Life Itinerary:
A Disjointed Organization of Alphabet Soup
A creative nonfiction piece written in my senior year of college. The 1st place recipient of the Greer Marechal Memorial Prize in Creative Nonfiction for the 2022 Undergraduate Creative Writing Contest. Tries to find why I enjoy traveling so much despite my desire to just stay at home. Judge DaMaris B. Hill had this to say in regards to my work:
I really enjoyed the innovative presentation style of this memoir. It was challenging, but also very forward thinking. The hybrid/mixed genre was a fabulous display of the author’s thinking process. The scratch outs and re-writes inspire the reader to engage with the work and question the validity of the story. This story is like a new type of travelers guide memoir and poetry signifier.
